Recycling is upon us. Your cooperation is appreciated. All proceeds from the sale of the recycled materials are designed by the County for use in operating the Recycling Center. If you have any questions about the Gunnison Recycling Program please call 641-8020.
To get started - check your residence for bins. Recycling bins have been issued to residences in the city. If your bins are missing, please request a bin voucher from the Utility Billing Desk at City Hall. Take the voucher to the Public Works Department located at 1100 W. Virginia Ave. where three bins will be issued to you. Remember the bins belong to the address where you live. When you move please leave the bins.
To participate in the program it is important to properly clean and sort your recyclables into the bins according to the attached instructions. Recyclables not properly prepared may not be collected. A note will be left in your bin explaining why they were not collected and how to solve the problem. Please place your recyclables at the same place you put your regular trash unless you are contacted about placing them at a different location. Do not leave your bins out all week. Please do not place your bins in front of your trash can or dumpster blocking access for regular collection.
