2010 Ford Explorer
The police department has been able to replace the front wheel drive Chevy Impalas with all wheel drive Ford Explorers to improve emergency responses during winter conditions.

Officers help out with downtown special events throughout the year.
Gunnison is a small mountain community on the western slope of Colorado with a population of approximately 6,000 full time residents. The population is increased annually with the influx of Western State College students numbering an additional 1900 persons. The City of Gunnison is the county seat for the County of Gunnison.
