- Receives 9-1-1 and non-emergent calls from the public
- Determines the priority and scope of the request or situation and then
- Dispatches the appropriate Law, Fire, or EMS support
In addition, Gunnison Regional Communications Center coordinates, supports and maintains many systems including the 9-1-1 information database. We are trained in Emergency Medical Dispatch in which we can provide medical instruction, from basic first aid to CPR until appropriate responders can arrive. We are versed in communications techniques to accomodate any caller's emotional state.
The Gunnison Regional Communications Center is a "Distinguished 9-1-1" Multi Agency Comm. Center which insures the safety of the public, police, fire and EMS personnel by making diligence, speed, accuracy and professionalism a priority when gathering information and dispatching calls.
