West Gunnison Neighborhood Plan

Informational links regarding the Plan are listed below.

The City of Gunnison has begun a community-based process to develop a plan for the West Gunnison Neighborhood, bounded on the south and east by U.S. Hwy 50, on the north by Tomichi Avenue and on the west by the Gunnison River. As one of the few remaining large, undeveloped parcels of land in our community, it represents an unmatched opportunity to create public-private partnerships that will benefit the community and create potential for significant economic benefit to the owners of the property.

At the first workshop, the City and consultants provided information about the property and the planning process, and asked the community to tell us what you would like to ac hive with the Plan. Based on what we heard from residents who participated, we prepared a few alternative plans for consideration and would like to hear your response at a Public Workshop on Monday, February 5th at 6:00PM at Fred Field Western Heritage Center also known as the Fairgrounds or Multipurpose Building, 275 S. Spruce St.

Working together as a community, our goal is to develop a cohesive plan for the neighborhood that will provide resources to create a framework for the successful development of private property. The Plan could also result in the development of such needed community assets such as open space, workforce housing, drainage and transportation improvements, and other community benefits.
