Building permit requirements:
The link to this document briefly describes the instances when a permit (building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical) is required and those projects that do not require a permit. Please note that the building codes are very detailed documents and if you have any questions regarding whether a specific project requires a building permit please contact the building department. Additionally, the linked document does not address Zoning and Land Development Standards. All projects must comply with the City of Gunnison Land Development Code.
To obtain a building permit:
Complete the Building Permit Packet and submit it to the Building Official in Community Development. Your permit will be available for pick-up 5 - 10 business days after submission depending on seasonal volume. Incomplete information may result in delayed issuance of the permit.
For inspections, notify the Community Development Department at least 24 hours in advance: 970.641.8151, ejansen@cityofgunnison-co.gov
