Tree Program
The City of Gunnison has a Tree Program where the City offers nursery grown trees for free to it's citizens. The citizen agrees to plant these trees in the City right-of-way, keeping in mind the full growth potential of these trees. A few reminders are:
- Never plant trees under power lines;
- Never plant near intersections that would affect visibility;
- Use mulch around newly planted trees; and
- Water regularly
A representative from the City will meet with each citizen wanting to plant a tree to discuss appropriate species, location, and care fro planting.
